History
Mack Air was launched in 1994 by travel and Okavango Delta enthusiasts, Lara and Stuart Mackay. Their first aircraft consisted of a Cessna 206 Stationair, with offices based in a hot and humid, rustic shack in Maun, Botswana.
In 1996, Lutz Gottschalk joined Mack Air as the first pilot, and by 1998 the company had a small team of pilots making daily flights into the Okavango Delta.
Therefore, from humble beginnings, and over a period of more than 30 years, Mack Air has developed into one of the most advanced air charter companies in Sub-Saharan Africa, setting the standard for air travel across the region.

Safety and Quality are headed by a team who are not only qualified pilots themselves but have years of experience working with the regulatory body (Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana and Zimbabwe) focusing solely on your safety and comfort.
As our aircraft is our hardware, we have partnered with Absolute Aviation with in-house engineers to monitor the maintenance on the aircraft as an additional step between the Maintenance organisation and Mack Air to ensure the quality of our hardware is pristine and safe.
With daily flights across Botswana and Zimbabwe, Mack Air also offers seamless travel to additional diverse and sought-after destinations, providing unparalleled access and expert insight into Sub-Saharan Africa's most remote and captivating regions.
